modern family

a couple months ago i watched an episode of modern family...it was hilarious!! for some reason i never watched it again...until a few nights ago. i am not really sure why i ever stopped watching it...i love it! i caught up on the new espisodes and i think that i am going to go back now and watch it from the beginning. if you are looking for a new show to watch i would definitely recommend modern family :)

here is a list of things from my weekend:
-some meany took my newly bought pumpkins right off my porch and smashed them.
-i finally went to the doctors for my horrid cough...yep, i have a chest infection (ie - bronchitis)
-i stayed in bed almost all day Saturday, watched greys and modern family...just what i needed
-went to bj house to watch the U football game...he didn't show up until a couple hours later...that's right, i hung out with his parents Saturday night
-went to church with bj sunday, then went to his brothers to watch the little kids. (aka-i watched the baby while my love watched despicable me. lol)
-oh!!! i almost forgot...i got a job at bath and body works!! yay :) so i'll be working there a couple nights a week, just for fun! (and i'm super excited that i get 30% off there and vs!!)

it was a good, relaxing weekend... today i was ready to go back to work (well, minus the part that i took WAYYYY too much cough medicine last night, and it was practically impossible to get out of bed). 

oh my goodness.

so i was just driving to work. probably driving a tid bit too fast. I'm almost to work at this point. i look to my left and what do i see? yep, you guessed it...a cop! i immediately slam on the breaks (like he didn't just see i was going 85) and pull into the middle lane. and then into the far right hand lane. he speeds down the freeway...at this point i'm sure that i am about to get pulled over and ticketed for going 20 over! however, to my shock and amazement he continues down the freeway only to pull over the car i was driving behind. THANK YOU!! ha ha. and to make things even funnier - as i'm driving (now in the slow lane) the man in the truck to my left looked over at me with a huge grin on his face laughing...out loud. i'm sure he saw the whole thing and i'm sure it made his day...because he was sure laughing pretty hard. anyway...that's my day so far and its not even 9am!! oh friday's - i sure do love you.

well, it's been a while

i really am not very good at blogging frequently...its more like once in a blue moon. Life has been so great. This summer was great. I worked lots, but think I probably played a lot more :) I'm not usually one to brag, but can i just say how incredibly lucky and grateful i am for my amazingly wonderful boyfriend?! because i totally am!! He is amazing and i love him like crazy. just sayin. we just recently got back from visiting my mom. we got to go to Gettysburg and washington d.c it was a fun trip, even though it rained the entire time and we didn't get to relax even a little. it was fun to be over there and good to get away for a few days. but let me tell you, it was oh so very nice to come home to beautiful utah :) i promise i will put up some pictures from our trip!! love you all!

tires...

Three years ago I bought my car - brand spankin new, i mean the thing only had 3 miles on it. well today...3 years and 45,000 miles later, i have had to purchase a new tire, gotten 3 flats fixed, and today i will have to purchase 4 new tires. my frustration comes from the fact that i shouldn't have to be buying all new tires only 3 years later! they should have put at least decent tires on the stupid car. on a good note, some random man made my day today. as i was pulled over on the side of the freeway...attempting to change my tire, because i was determined to do it myself...i found myself in a dilemma...the bolts were so tight i couldn't even get them to budge. thankfully, someone saw me pulled over attempting to change my tire, and stopped to help me. this random man is my hero of the day! seriously, there was no way i was going to be able to get the flat tire off. so now, i am at work - with a spare tire, and will have to leave work early. drive 20 miles on the freeway (did i mention you can only drive about 50 mph w/the spare) and go get new tires. my good day just went south super fast. so tonight, i am going to sit on my couch with a big bowl of popcorn and watch a movie. i am so frustrated i can't even concentrate on my work. ugh. (ps...did i mention i wish i drank on days like today? ha ha.)

a real summer..

living and growing in Washington for 21 years has deprived me of any resemblance of a summer. sure, Washington is one of the most beautiful places in the country when the sun is shinning and it is warm out...but maybe that is because they come so few and far between? all i know is that i am absolutely in love with having a real summer! 95 degree weather, sunshine, glorious heat! I. AM. IN. LOVE. it is wonderful and i can tell you 100% that i do not miss the  dreary weather northwest. i am totally okay with 95 degree weather!!! Utah is amazing. i love it more and more everyday i am here. yesterday i have officially been living in Utah for 6 months!! the time has flown by and i couldn't be happier with where i am in my life right now. taking that huge leap of faith really does pay off. having faith is the reason i am where i am today in the situation i am in...i love it and am so thankful for my faith. my faith however is being tested yet again. i found out yesterday evening that my little cousin has cancer. i haven't yet fully figured out my feelings, i am too scared, sad, and overwhelmed. i am hoping and praying that everything will work out in the end...i know it will, but i pray that my family will be comforted and that in the end we will all be closer as a whole. trials only help us to be stronger...we just need to keep our head held high.

summer is finally here!

since i moved to utah...its snowed, rained, stormed - basically everything but sunny. however, the weather has recently decided to be sunny and hot and i am loving it!! :) i forgot how much i missed the sun and can't get enough of it now.

i seem to have forgotten...

last night i had a slight breakdown..okay, maybe it was a major breakdown, but lets pretend it was small. i came to the realization of how much i miss my friends. even if we did nothing, it was great. we talked and laughed and man do i miss it. not only do i miss them, i feel bad because i have been extrememly needy to bj - which he has been so great about...but its not fair to him and i feel bad about it. i love him dearly and appreciate his sincere understanding, but i just want some girlfriends who are in salt lake!! is that really too much to ask for?! i think not. so my quest...to find a girlfriend!!!

ready, set, go....

time for a vacation...

today i've decided that i could really use a vacation. i know, i went to hawaii in february...but its the middle of may now & time for another vacation! somewhere warm where i can just sit by the pool, get a tan, and read a good book. i'm thinking vegas with my sister!! anyone else wanna join? :)

migraine

since yesterday at about one o'clock, i have had an awful headache...it now is ten am then following day and i still have the headache...well migraine. its not fun. my head it throbbing and any light and sound makes is ten times worse, but where am i right now? yep you guessed it...work. ugh. however, i think that i am going to go home soon so that i can sleep and hope and pray this migraine goes away.

short, sweet, and to the point

i know...it's been forever since i've blogged. sorry everyone. i really do love you all, i just haven't had any time to write. long story short - i am in utah, loving every single second of it. dating an absolutely amazing guy who i love and adore, have a great job that i enjoy waking up for every morning, and live in a cute little house just by the u. life is great. sometimes we need to take that huge leap of faith and just do it. i did it and wouldn't change it one bit. i love it here and i couldn't be happier with the changes that have happened in such a short time. i love and miss you all!

it was my first day!!

as i got ready this morning it felt just like the first day of school...but it was my first day of my new job!! and let me tell you - i LOVE it! for all of you that don't know ... i got a job in park city! (side note: i am kinda sorta obsessed with park city, so getting to work there is like a dream come true) anyway...i love it and all the people i work with. they were all so friendly, kind, and welcoming! i got to go to lunch at cafe rio ... yum yummm ... oh and, for the 3 whole days i was without a job i was literally going crazy!! I'm so incredibly happy i found a job quickly, i don't think i would be able to stand having any more free time. anyway...i love it here in utah :) minus that serious lack of friends. but I'm sure that will change quickly - or at least i hope so! well...i'm off to golden spoon with crystal now!

i made it...

as of 6 o'clock mountain time, saturday, i was officially in utah, car unpacked, and eating dinner at my new home. i went to my new ward yesterday...and then just hung out at home with crystal. we watched 5 movies, were a little crazy, and complained about the snow (what was i thinking moving to utah?!) haha. but its been great so far! off to provo today for some fun :) miss you all!

i'm sitting at crystals while she packs to go to utah! my car is all packed up...no wiggle room what-so-ever, but it all fit!!! :) i'm starting to get real excited! YAY!!!!!!!!!!

The last day…

Today is my last day in Washington. it’s a bitter sweet day. Last day of my job of 3 years. Last day of the beautiful pacific northwest…onto the wonderful state of Utah! Leaving the life I have known for so long to go out and experience life, make new friends, enjoy new experiences, and so much more! I seriously can not wait, but at the same time im nervous!! Tomorrow at the wee hours of the morning I will take off…all my belongings shoved into my little car and make the LONG drive to salt lake with my bestest friend crystal! Ill let you know how the drive goes!!! :)

day 13...a letter to someone who has helped you recently

there have been so many people that have helped me recently that i couldn't possibly pick just one...so to all the people who have helped me recently (you may or may not realized you have) but everyone has made a huge impact on me and my huge decisions lately. thank you for all the love and support you have showed me…it has been more helpful and appreciated then I probably voiced!

oh my heck...i just need to vent!!!

so clearly i am leaving my current job...i mean, hello! i am moving! for some reason, my co-workers don’t seem to understand the concept. like they thought i would start working at 18 and end up retiring there..sorry people...i do have a life, i mean maybe want to go out and experience the world...weird concept i know!! (well, not really! i mean...gosh!). anyway...to finish my complaining, everyone is being rude to me because i am moving. they are yelling (like literally yelling) they are giving me all the crappy stuff to do, and honestly making me that much more excited to move! ah!!!!!!!! i just wish people would be nice! like seriously, how old are they!? because i would assume they are like...uh, 5! anyway...that is all for now!

i am so behind.

so remember how i said i was going to blog for 30 days straight?? ya, i kind of suck at it. i got to day 12 and then BAM!...nothing. went to hawaii, got distracted by the beautiful sun...and i'm not going to lie, i totally forgot about blogging...my bad! so today i'm going to start at day 13 (lets just pretend that i didn't skip like a bagillion day k?..okay!)

oh, and to give you a quick little update of my life...i went skiing in utah a few weeks ago with my friend bryan, we went skiing i fell...hard. ski patrol had to take me off the mountain. it was embarrassing, to say the least! then i went on a lovely vacation to hawaii with my dear friend chelsey! we were in kona, and it was fabulous! a week was not long enough, but i thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! i can home tan and gimpy with my beautiful knee brace (just so you can get a visual...the brace does not allow me to bend my knee and it goes from my thigh to my calve!) its real cute!
but for right now my room is in total disarray...the packing has begun and its complete and total chaos! I’m so excited but nervous to make my big move to salt lake! But I know if will be wonderful and I will make lots of new friends and do a tremendous amount of growing! I’m finally leaving Washington, my home. I’m leaving all my friends and family and going out into the world on my own. You all probably wonder why I would leave the place I have always known as home…well there aren’t really words to describe it fully. I will say that I know that I am doing what is right for me and I am going where I need to be right now…and I’m so ecstatic about it! Remember people…I’m just moving! It doesn’t mean I love you any less…it just means, well, that im moving. i will try to be better about blogging about my new adventures, my new friends, new loves, new life! AH! i can not wait!!!

day number 12...i have a blog simply for myself. a place for me to write down my thoughts. share thoughts. and just to have a place to vent. sometimes at the end of the day it helps to just sit down and write about what happened. even if i'm the only one who ever reads this...that will be a okay with me!
